Sunset Council For Parent Involvement In Education

Concerning the continuation of the state advisory council for parent involvement in education, and, in connection therewith, implementing the recommendations contained in the 2018 sunset report by the department of regulatory agencies and making an appropriation.

Bill Summary

Sunset Process - Senate Education Committee. The bill implements the recommendations of the department of regulatory agencies' sunset review by continuing the state advisory council ("council") for parent involvement in education indefinitely.

The bill changes the number of persons appointed to the council from 5 parents to one parent from each congressional district.

The bill appropriates $2,000 to the department of education from the general fund for accountability and improvement planning.
