Concerning providing enforcement authority to the attorney general over unlawful transfers of fetal tissue from an induced termination of pregnancy.
Bill Summary:
Under current law, it is unlawful to transfer fetal tissue from an induced termination of pregnancy for valuable consideration to an institution that conducts fetal tissue research. The department of public health and environment and state registrar are tasked with enforcement of the prohibition. The bill gives the attorney general the authority to investigation violations and punish any violation.
