Update Publishing Requirement DOR Department Of Revenue Taxes Paid Table

Type Bill
Session 2018 Regular Session
Subjects
State Government

Concerning certain publishing requirements for the department of revenue's "Disclosure of Average Taxes Paid" table.

Bill Summary:

Modernize "disclosure of average taxes paid" table - department of revenue. Statutory Revision Committee. Current law requires the department of revenue (department) to provide the "Disclosure of Average Taxes Paid" table to taxpayers in the income tax booklet that the department mails to the taxpayer. However, the department no longer mails the income tax booklet to each individual taxpayer, instead making a physical copy available at local libraries and allowing the booklet to be downloaded from the department's website. The act changes the reference of "mails to" to "provides for" in order to reflect current practices.

Current law also requires the department to make the table available through the "NetFile" link on the department's website. Since that link is no longer available, the act removes the reference to that specific link and instead refers in general to the department's website and also requires the department to provide the table on the software platform that the department makes available to taxpayers to file individual income taxes.
