Representatives Froelich
and Garcia, co-prime sponsors, introduced and explained Senate Bill 23-184
concerning protections for residential tenants. The bill prohibits
landlords from considering certain information related to a tenant's income
and rental history and establishes a maximum amount for security deposits.
In addition, the bill proposes allowing tenants to assert an affirmative
defense in an eviction proceeding that a landlord violated anti-discriminatory
housing laws. |
