Representative Suckla, sponsor, presented House Bill 25-1071. As amended by strike-below amendment L.001, beginning in FY 2025-26, the bill requires that all money in the Peace Officer Training and Support Fund be distributed to counties and federally recognized tribal governments according to a new distribution formula. The distribution formula directs that 50 percent of funding to be distributed equally among all counties and tribes and that 50 percent of funding be distributed among counties and tribes in proportion to their populations. Representative Suckla provided a fact sheet (Attachment E) and distributed amendment L.001 (Attachment F).
