Senator Michaelson Jenet, prime sponsor, presented House Bill 24-1374, concerning means of ensuring that independent contractors who perform legal services on behalf of independent judicial agences are eligible for the federal public service loan forgiveness program.

Committee members asked questions about requirements to qualify for loan forgiveness. Further discussion ensued about incentives for agencies to recruit and retain attorneys.
