Senators Rich and Kipp, primary bill sponsors, introduced House Bill 26-1096, which prohibits the Department of Health Care Policy and Financing (HCPF) from denying Medicaid clients the ability to enter into direct primary care (DPC) agreements. Providers entering DPC agreements with Medicaid clients are required to enroll in Medicaid as Ordering, Prescribing, or Referring providers and are subject to disclosure and data reporting requirements. HCPF must include summarized data on DPC agreements in their annual SMART Act presentation.
