Representative Paschal
and Representative Clifford, co-prime bill sponsors, presented House Bill
26-1038, concerning county commissioner redistricting. For counties that
elect county commissioners by district, the bill requires boards of county
commissioners to appoint independent county commissioner redistricting
commissions to develop redistricting plans. The bill removes advisory committees
from the redistricting process. Representative Pascal reviewed the amendment
guide (Attachment A) and explained amendments L.001, L.002, L.003, L.004,
L.005, L.006, and L.007 (Attachments B to H). Representative Clifford further
explained the bill.
