The primary bill
sponsor, Representative Suckla, introduced House Bill 25B-1007 to the House
Health and Human Services Committee. Under current law, the Health Insurance
Affordability Enterprise Board consists of two representatives from the
Department of Regulatory Agencies and nine representatives, appointed by
the Governor, from various stakeholder groups. The bill requires the Governor
appointees to include four Democrats, four Republicans, and one unaffiliated
member. Additionally, the bill requires the Governorâs appointees from
the Eastern Plains and the Western Slope to reside in a county with no
more than 50,000 residents. |
