02:20 PM -- HB16-1093

Representatives Ransom and Ryden, co-prime sponsors, presented House Bill 16-1093 to the committee. The committee took testimony on the bill at its February 1, 2016, hearing. This bill makes conforming amendments in state law to consistently apply terms related to the way county clerks process, record, and update voter change of address information. Currently, the Secretary of State is required to perform monthly national change of address database searches to determine if a voter has moved. This bill makes changes to the process that must be followed by the clerks to confirm a voter address if the monthly search determines that a voter may have moved.

Representative Ryden presented Amendment L.002 (Attachment A).
