Representative Danielson called the meeting to order.  Representative Singer, bill sponsor, presented House Bill 18-1045 to the committee.  The bill allows dental hygienists to apply silver diamine fluoride under the direct or indirect supervision of a dentist if the dental hygienist meets certain professional and educational criteria.

Representative Singer responded to committee questions regarding the bill.  Amendment L.001 and L.002 were distributed to the committee (Attachments A and B).

Representative Danielson proceeded with witness testimony on the bill.

Dr. Carol Marrow, Colorado Dental Association, testified in support of the bill.  Dr. Marrow responded to committee questions.

Dr. Ethan Kerns, Salud Family Health Centers and the Colorado Community Health Network, testified in support of the bill.  Dr. Kerns responded to committee questions.

Valerie Haustein, Children's Hospital Colorado, testified in support of the bill.

Dr. Rich Call, Delta Dental, testified in support of the bill and distributed a handout (Attachment C).  Dr. Call responded to committee questions.

Deb Astroth, Colorado Dental Hygenist Association, testified in support of the bill.
