Representatives Duran and Carver presented Senate Bill 21-190 to the committee.  This bill creates personal data privacy rights and requires businesses that process personal data to fulfill certain duties. Representative Carver explained the effect of the bill and discussed its need.  Representative Duran provided additional input on the merits of the bill.  Representative Carver responded to questions regarding requirements in the bill concerning deletion of personal data, the process of opting out of data collection under the bill, and the scope of the bill.
