Representatives Gray and Gonzales-Gutierrez presented Senate Bill 21-057 to the committee. This bill adds private lenders, creditors, and collection agencies connected with student loans to the Colorado Student Loan Servicers Act.
Representative Gray explained the effect of the bill and discussed its need.  Bo Pogue, Legislative Council Staff, responded to questions regarding the routing of the bill to the Appropriations Committee.

Morgan Royal, representing New Era Colorado, testified in support of the bill. Ms. Banyai-Becker responded to questions regarding whether she signed documents associated with her student loans.

Seth Frotman, representing the Student Borrower Protection Center, testified in support of SB 21-057.

No amendments were offered to SB 21-057. The bill's sponsors provided closing remarks in support of the bill. Representatives Snyder and Bradfield provided their positions on the bill. Representative Gray responded to questions regarding consumer protection infrastructure in the state.
