Representative Soper, prime bill sponsor, presented House Bill 25-1299, concerning salaries of elected local officials. The bill allows elected county officers to choose to receive a salary of any amount lower than the amount set by law, and also changes the county classification of Mesa County beginning in 2029. Representative Soper responded to questions from the committee and provided two handouts (Attachments D and E) to the committee.
