Senator Gardner, Senator Winter, and Representative Lontine, co-prime bill sponsors, presented Senate Bill 19-244. The bill creates the Office of Legislative Workplace Relations (OLWR) within the Office of Legislative Legal Services.  OLWR will provide services related to employee relations, training, workplace culture, and workplace harassment. OLWR's office space may be in the State Capitol or a nearby building and must be situated in order to provide convenient access and confidentiality.

Natalie Mullis, Legislative Council Staff, explained the
approval process for interim committee requests.  A packet of interim
committee request letters was distributed to the committee (Attachment
A).  President Garcia announced that Interim Committee Request 2019-1
and Interim Committee Request 2019-6 were withdrawn by the sponsors prior
to the meeting.

Representative Cutter presented Interim Committee Request 2019-2 regarding zero waste and recycling. Representative Cutter answered questions from the committee.

Representative Hansen presented Interim Committee Request 2019-3 regarding energy legisaltion.

process for approving the number of meeting allowed for each approved interim
committee and answered questions from the committee.  She referred
to the letter from Ms. Mullis regarding funding for interim committees
(Attachment C).  Ms. Burger provided information regarding the Early
Childhood and School Readiness Legislative Commission.
