Senator Kagan explained that the bill is a result of discussions from the Sentencing in the Criminal Justice System Interim Study Committee. Senator Kagan proposed and discussed Amendment L.001 (Attachment A). The amendment eliminates provisions requiring an advisory committee to review the study before it goes before the CCJJ. 01:39:40 PM Senator Gardner noted that CCJJ is subject to reauthorization this year.
