Concerning the criteria under which the state board of psychologist examiners may award professional development credit for specific activities currently included in the continuing professional development program for licensed psychologists.

Bill Summary:

The act clarifies and amends portions of the continuing professional development program for licensed psychologists, enacted in 2015. The substantive amendments are as follows:
  • Credit hours awarded for teaching or giving presentations may be awarded more than once for the same material, but only once during the same licensure cycle;
  • Credit hours awarded for writing, editing, or reviewing a psychology publication are not limited to the first year of its publication or distribution; and
  • Credit hours awarded for review of a journal article are limited to review of an article in a professional psychological or scientific journal, at the request of the editorial staff.
