Anne Wallace, Legislative Council Staff, presented the ballot analysis for Initiative 283, which is now Proposition 118, Paid Family and Medical Leave Insurance Program.  She explained the measure and reviewed the information that is provided in the ballot analysis.  Amendment 1 was distributed to the committee (Attachment B).  Submitted written testimony can be found as Attachment B(1).

about the analysis.

Mr. Bruce answered questions from the committee.
 Senator Holbert explained Amendment 1 (Attachment B).  Committee
discussion ensued.

Senator Holbert severed Amendment 1 into
sections A and B, with section A being the first line of the amendment
and section B being the remaining portions.  He requested that the
committee vote on severed section B only.
