Committees

Committees of reference, year-round committees, and interim committees consider legislation, provide oversight of executive branch agencies, and conduct studies on issues of importance to the state.

House Committees of Reference

House Committees of Reference meet primarily during the legislative session to consider legislation and provide oversight of executive branch agencies.

Senate Committees of Reference

Senate Committees of Reference meet primarily during the legislative session to consider legislation, conduct confirmation hearings, and provide oversight of executive branch agencies.

Interim Committees

Interim Committees meet in the interim, between legislative sessions, to consider issues of importance to the state. Interim committees generally meet for only one interim period.

Other Committees

The General Assembly may create other committees to meet during the legislative session or interim on specific issues of importance to the state.

Temporary Guidelines for Review and Comment Meetings

The legislature will meet in limited session on Monday, March 30th. The Capitol will be open for the duration of the session for those with essential business related to the session. The building will not be available for public tours. People without essential business are encouraged to access the session through the General Assembly website and Colorado Channel.  Anybody with essential business related to the session will be required to practice appropriate social distancing measures.
