Senator Baumgardner, prime sponsor, presented House Bill 16-1060. The bill requires the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) to erect and maintain a permanent roadside memorial for every Colorado State Patrol (CSP) officer who has died on the highway in the line of duty. CDOT is required to use gifts, grants, and donations to fund these memorials.
