Senators Martinez-Humenik and Steadman, co-prime sponsors, presented House Bill 16-1398. This bill, as amended by the House Public Health Care and Human Services Committee, requires the Department of Human Services (DHS) to use a competitive request-for-proposal (RFP) process to select a contractor to implement the recommendations of the Respite Care Task Force. The selected contractor must have a presence in Colorado and serve individuals with disabilities or chronic conditions by providing and coordinating respite care.
