Representative Lundeen, sponsor, presented Senate Bill 16-111 to the committee. This bill, as amended by the Senate Judiciary Committee, creates the Peace Officer Authority Colorado Mounted Rangers Study Task Force (task force). This task force must study and make recommendations regarding whether it is appropriate for the Colorado Mounted Rangers to receive peace officer standards and training (POST). If POST certification is recommended, the task force must also recommend the appropriate state agency for the Colorado Mounted Rangers and the required level of POST certification, training, and supervision.
