Meghan Baker, Chair
of the Jail Standards Commission, gave an update regarding the activities
of the Jail Standards Commission. The proposed standards can be accessed
here: https://coleg.box.com/s/nmyj4ju5etjce38ojioy1phisy0t26ih.
She explained that the commission is working to suggest revisions to the
standards, and the group is proposing both technical and substantive changes.
She noted that the commission is working to issue its final report by November
15, and the final meeting of the commission is November 9. She explained
that representative of jails, sheriffs' offices and organizations, and
counties have participated in the revision process.
