Request a Tour

Reservations are not needed for public tours.

Field trips for the 24/25 school year are fully booked. Schools are always welcome to self guide through the Capitol. You can find helpful self guiding materials here.  

ALL SCHEDULED TOURS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE OR CANCELATION IN CONSIDERATION OF HEALTH AND SAFETY CONCERNS.

FIELD TRIPS TO THE CAPITOL

Field trips can be booked one calendar year in advance. Field trips fill up quickly, and space is limited, so get your request in as soon as possible. *Tour request are not guaranteed. The capitol can host a maximum of 90 people per day for field trips- students, chaperones, and teachers combined. Field trips begin at 10:30am, and last 1.5 hours. Bus loading and unloading occurs at the North East Corner of the Capitol grounds at the corner of Colfax and Grant. Bus parking is on Broadway between 14th and Colfax.

GROUP TOUR REQUESTS

For groups of ten and over, or for groups with special needs, we suggest you request a Group Tour. These tours are subject to availability, and must occur between normal business hours. One of our Capitol Guides will take you through the building, and up to the Dome observation area. Tours take between 45 minutes and an hour.

We are unable to provide tours the following dates 

Mother Cabrini Day, Monday, October 7, 2024 - Capitol Closed

Wednesday October 9, 2024 - No Tours (Capitol open for self-guided tours only. Mr. Brown's Attic museum and the dome observation area will be closed.) 

Thursday October 17, 2024 - No Tours (Capitol open for self-guided tours only. Mr. Brown's Attic museum and the dome observation area will be closed.)

Veterans Day, Monday, November 11, 2024 - Capitol Closed

Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28, 2024 - Capitol Closed

Friday, November 29, 2024 - No Tours (Capitol open for self-guided tours only.  Mr. Brown's Attic museum and the dome observation area will be closed.)

Christmas Day, Wednesday, December 25, 2024 - Capitol Closed
