The committee was called to order. A quorum was present. Matt Becker, Legislative Council Staff discussed the non-prioritized FY 2017-18 capital budget requests. Committee members received a summary of the requests, prepared by Legislative Council Staff (Attachment A). Mr. Becker also discussed a letter to the committee received from the Legislative Oversight Committee Concerning the Treatment of Persons with Mental Illness in the Criminal and Juvenile Justice Systems regarding possible use of state vacant buildings (Attachment B). Mr. Becker and Kori Donaldson, Legislative Council Staff, responded to committee questions regarding the budget requests. Ms. Donaldson discussed a request for potential legislation from the Governor's Office of State Planning and Budgeting regarding lease equivalent payments for cash fund appropriations.
