The bill requires rabies vaccinations for domestic cats and dogs four months of age or older, and the pet owner is responsible for obtaining the vaccination for their cat or dog within 90 days of acquiring the animal or within 90 days after the animal turns four months of age. Representative Ginal described the threat of rabies in Colorado. The bill allows localities, the State Board of Health, and local boards of health to set more stringent requirements.
