Representative Herod asked the committee to postpone indefinitely House Bill 17-1202. The bill requires any plumbing inspection performed by the state, a local government, or a qualified state higher education institute to include a review of the licensed plumbers and apprentices working on the inspected job site to ensure that plumbers are licensed and that apprentices are supervised by licensed plumbers. State, local building departments, and higher education institutions are required to develop standard procedures for plumbing inspectors conducting these reviews and to post these procedures on the agency's website. An inspector may file a complaint with the State Plumbing Board for any violation uncovered during an inspection.

Representative McKean and Representative Winter introduced Senate Bill 17-269. Under current law, a licensed retail liquor store may receive no more than 20 percent of its annual gross revenue from the sale of nonalcohol products. The bill excludes sales revenue from lottery products, cigarettes, tobacco, and nicotine products, as well as ice, soft drinks, mixers, and any nonfood items related to the consumption of alcohol from that limit. The bill also clarifies that the limit is on annual gross sales revenue.

Current law prohibits a liquor-licensed tavern or lodging and entertainment facility from permitting an employee who is under 21 years of age to sell alcohol. The bill allows employees who are under 21 years of age to sell alcohol in licensed taverns or lodging and entertainment facilities that regularly serve meals.
