Senate Bill 19-226.  The bill authorizes counties to enter into voluntary
housing agreements in unincorporated areas of the county for the purpose
of increasing the amount of affordable housing for low and moderate income
households.  Senator Winter requested that the bill be postponed indefinitely.

SB19-034 - Postponed Indefinitely

Senator Moreno, bill sponsor, presented
Senate Bill 19-034.  Under current law, local governments cannot require
or prohibit the use or sale of specific types of plastic materials or products,
or restrict or mandate containers, packaging, or labeling for any consumer
products. This bill creates an exception to allow local governments the
option to set standards for retail food establishments' ready-to-eat food
containers that may be discarded through recycling or composting.



Senator Moreno requested that the bill be postponed indefinitely.

Mindy Gates, Colorado Department of Human Services, presented on the role and charge of the Colorado Commission on the Aging.  Senator Ginal announced that the committee will consider Kathleen Hall's appointment in absentia since she was not able to attend the meeting, but was present on March 12 when the confirmation hearing was initially scheduled.  Ms. Gates told the committee about Ms. Hall's professional background.
