Senator Donovan, prime sponsor, discussed the provisions of House Bill 17-1128 concerning a salary adjustment for lake county officials. The salary of county officers is set in statute and determined by the category (I through VI) and subcategory (A through D) of the county. This bill changes the categorization of Lake County from category IV-A to IV-B, which decreases the salary of Lake County elected officials whose terms begin on or after January 1, 2016.
