Senator Fields, prime sponsor, presented House Bill 24-1079, concerning persons detained in jail who are held on an emergency commitment, and, in connection therewith, making an appropriation.  She explained the bill was recommended by the Legislative Oversight Committee Concerning the Treatment of Persons with Behavioral Health Disorders in the Criminal and Juvenile Justice Systems.

Sheriff-David Lucero, representing County Sheriff's Of Colorado & the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office, testified in support of the bill.

Committee discussion ensued about competency wait lists and mental health holds.
