Senator Bridges introduce House Bill 20-1197.  The bill requires the Department of Human Services to provide a $200,000 annual grant to the Colorado 2-1-1 collaborative.

The committee returned to order. Senators Sonnenberg and Donovan, prime sponsors, presented House Bill 20-1421. Under certain conditions, this bill allows a board of county commissioners or a city council to reduce or waive delinquent property tax interest payments, and provide assistance to local taxing jurisdictions. Senator Sonnenberg explained the effect of the bill and discussed its need. Discussion ensued regarding some amendments placed on the bill in the House of Representatives.

Jason Hopfer, representing the Colorado County Treasurers Association, testified regarding the bill.

Rich Werner, representing Upstate Colorado Economic Development, testified regarding the bill. Mr. Werner responded to questions regarding the duration of an executive order impacting the bill.
