Senator Gonzales presented Senate Bill 20-210, which continues the $4 fee for Uniform Commercial Code filings through June 30, 2024, and continues the requirement for the Fraud Investigators Unit to report on its activities until July 1, 2025.  She laid the bill over until later in the hearing.

Senators Tate and Hansen presented Senate Concurrent Resolution 20-001, which submits a question to voters to repeal from the constitution the nonresidential assessment rate of 29 percent, the calculation of the target percentage, and the requirement that the residential assessment rate be set to achieve the target percentage.  Senators Tate and Hansen responded to committee questions.  Copies of the written testimony received on the bill can be found in Attachment A.

SB20-207 - Amended, referred to Senate Appropriations

Senator Hansen and Winter, co-prime sponsors, presented Senate Bill 20-207.  The bill amends the Colorado Employment Security Act to codify current practices, address public health emergencies, and to increase the amount a person can earn while receiving benefits.  It also requires a study of the feasibility of unemployment insurance for people in the gig economy.
