The committee recessed.

03:17 PM

The committee reconvened. Senator Moreno, prime sponsor, presented Senate Bill 17-072, which prohibits a seller from charging convenience fees on any sales transaction involving admission to an entertainment event. The bill does not change current law that allows state and local governments to charge convenience fees on credit or debit card transactions, as long as the fees do not exceed the cost incurred to process the payment.

03:19 PM -- Kurt Schwartzkopf, representing Live Nation Entertainment, testified in opposition to the bill.

03:21 PM --
Roger Jones, representing the Colorado Ticket Brokers Association, testified in opposition to the bill. Mr. Jones and Mr. Schwartzkopf responded to committee questions.

03:36 PM

Senator Moreno wrapped up his presentation of SB 17-072. Senator Moreno discussed amendments L.001, L.002, and L.003 (Attachments B, C, and D, respectively). Committee discussion ensued.
