Senator Todd invited the appointee and reappointee to the board of trustees for Adams State University to come to the table.  Michelle Lueck and Jonathan Marquez introduced themselves and spoke about why they would like to serve or continue to serve on the board.  A copy of the Governor's appointment letter can be found as Attachment A.  They answered questions from the committee.

Senator Story, sponsor, presented Senate Bill 20-143, which concerns establishing a higher education student transition pilot program.

The following people testified on the bill:

Dr. Angie Paccione, Executive Director of the Colorado Department of Higher Education, spoke in support of the bill. Dr. Paccione answered questions from the committee.

Dr. Andy Feinstein, President of the University of Northern Colorado, spoke in support of the bill.

Dr. Leah Bornstein, President of Aims Community College, spoke in support of the bill.

The panel of witnesses answered questions from the committee.

Kelli Kelty, representing Western Colorado University, spoke in support of the bill.

Shaun Shafer, representing Metropolitan State University of Denver, spoke in support of the bill.

Senator Todd invited Dr. Janine Davidson, President of Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver), to come to the table to introduce the appointees to to the MSU Denver Board of Trustees.  Kristin Hultquist, Michael Johnston, and Mario Carrera told the committee about the backgrounds and about why they would like to be appointed to the board.  A copy of the Governor's appointment letter can be found as Attachment C.

Senator Todd, sponsor, presented Senate Bill 20-158, which concerns measures related to providing professional training for educators.  A handout was distributed to the committee (Attachment D).
