Senator Priola, sponsor, presented Senate Bill 17-041 which concerns employment contracts for certain positions at institutions of higher education. Senator Priola distributed a handout (Amendment A) and amendment L.002 (Attachment B).

01:46 PM -- Confirmation of State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education



Senator Hill invited Dr. Nancy McCallin, President, Colorado Community College System, to come to the table to introduce the appointee and reappointee to the State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education (board): Senator Rollie Heath and Russell Meyer. Copies of the Governor's appointment letter and the appointees' applications and resumes were distributed to the committee (Attachment C). Mr. Meyer told the committee about his educational and professional background, and about his interest in serving on the board for a second term. Senator Heath spoke about his passion for career and technical education, why he would like to serve on the board, and about the need to enhance the skilled workforce in the state. Dr. McCallin answered questions from the committee.
