Chair Weissman explained that, since the committee is sitting as the Senate committee of reference for Senate Bill 25-125, Senate rules for remote participation apply, rather than Committee on Legal Services rules for remote participation, and as such, members joining remotely must be marked as Excused.

Chair Weissman noted that the rule was uncontested, and Ms. Darling informed the committee that Ms. Kristina Rosett of the Division of Labor Standards and Statistics was in attendance to answer any questions.

During the committee's vote concerning the extension of Rule 1.3 of the rules of the Division of Labor Standards and Statistics, Chair Weissman noted that Vice-chair Soper had joined the meeting remotely but would be marked as Excused for the vote.

Christy Chase, Deputy Director of the Office of Legislative Legal Services (OLLS), presented the rule issue for the rules of the State Board of Nursing, Division of Professions and Occupations, Department of Regulatory Agencies, concerning certified midwives.

Chair Weissman clarified that, since Vice-chair Soper joined the meeting remotely, he would have to be marked as Excused due to the committee acting as a Senate committee of reference and therefore being subject to Senate rules.

Jacob Baus, Senior Attorney, OLLS, presented the Annual Rule Review Bill, SB25-125.
