The sponsors provided a handout (Attachment B). The bill allows the Colorado Department of Transportation to designate steep downhill grade zones and collect additional fines if a commercial motor vehicle driver commits a speeding violation. The bill proposes using the fines for educational purposes on runaway truck events.
