Representative Pettersen and Representative Coram, co-prime sponsors, presented House Bill 16-1322 to the committee. The bill requires health insurance plans that are required by federal law to cover contraceptives to cover a 3-month supply of a prescription contraceptive the first time it is dispensed to a covered person, and a 12-month supply any time it is subsequently re-dispensed.

Representative Landgraf and Representative Young, co-prime sponsors, presented House Bill 16-1398 to the committee. The bill requires the Department of Human Services (DHS) to use a competitive request-for-proposal process to select a contractor to implement the recommendations of the Respite Care Task Force. The selected contractor must be an entity that serves individuals with disabilities or chronic conditions by providing and coordinating respite care and must currently have a role with the Colorado Respite Coalition.

Representative Pabon, prime sponsor, presented House Bill 16-1427 to the committee. The bill exempts multi-serving liquid retail marijuana products from the equivalency restrictions if the product complies with all statutory and rule packaging requirements for multi-serving edibles. The multi-serving liquid must:

      • be packaged in a structure that uses a single mechanism to achieve both child-resistance and accurate pouring dosing of each liquid serving in increments of ten miligrams or less, with a maximum of 100 miligrams per package; and
      • have the dosing component within the child-resistant cap or closure of the bottle and not a separate component.
