Representative Liston, prime sponsor, presented House Bill 17-1096, which allows a cemetery authority to request that the fiduciary of a cemetery endowment care fund convert the fund into a unitrust. Committee members received a page illustrating the rate of return for stocks versus bonds for different time horizons, prepared by Representative Liston (Attachment A). Representative Liston addressed questions from the committee.

Representative Navarro, prime sponsor, presented House Bill 17-1104, which provides a state income tax deduction for monetary awards received from the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) or any sport-specific national governing committee as a direct result of winning a medal at the summer or winter Olympics or Paralympics games. Committee members received a letter from the USOC, amendment L.005, and amendment L.006 (Attachments C through E, respectively). Representative Navarro addressed questions from the committee.
