and Wendy Teplin with the Rocky Mountain Institute gave a presentation
to the committee (Attachment A). Their presentation started with an overview
of over Colorado's climate progress, emerging technology, and federal investment
opportunities.

questions on topics such as geothermal sources, the implication of displaced
emissions, agriculture and emissions, hydrogen efficiency and storage,
and blue ammonia.

continued with information on transmission lines. The presentation gave
an overview of the national landscape, the complications of renewable energy
and transmission, and lack of transmission lines. The committee asked questions
about the amount of transmission lines needed, construction and timeline
of transmission lines, and working with different agencies to build a reliable
grid.

continued with more information on transmission lines in Colorado, the
problems that the state faces, wind and solar complimenting each other,
greenhouse gas targets related to transmission, the benefits of power sharing,
and other options to building transmission lines with new technologies.
The committee asked questions about solar and wind being collocated, transmission
going in and out of the state, the future of transmission and storage,
energy storage in Colorado, and existing rights of way.
