presented House Bill 25-1050, concerning an exception to the requirement
that a county with a population of two thousand or more maintain its own
county jail for a county that enters into an intergovernmental agreement
for a multijurisdictional county jail. Representative Garcia explained
the effect of the bill and discussed its need. Representative Garcia responded
to questions about stipulations in intergovernmental agreements.

Lake County Sheriff's Office, testified in support of the bill. Lauren
Snyder, representing Lake County, testified in support of the bill.




The witnesses
responded to questions regarding Lake County's use of jail space and future
plans for jail use by the county. Discussion ensued regarding fiscal impacts
for Lake County.
