Senator Rodriguez, co-prime sponsor, explained Senate Bill 20-037, concerning the development of a strategic plan to implement a trusted interoperability platform.  He discussed how this bill was recommended by the Legislative Oversight Committee Concerning the Treatment of Persons with Mental Health Disorders in the Criminal and Juvenile Justice System (MHDCJS).  He noted that the associated task force studied the need for a strategic plan to share information between agencies for continuity of care purposes.

Peggy Heill, representing the MHDCJS Task Force, testified in favor of the bill.  She distributed a handout about the trusted interoperability platform plan (Attachment D).

Gina Shimeall, representing the MHDCJS Task Force, testified in support of the measure.  She discussed the importance of data and aggregate information. 

Senator Rodriguez, made closing remarks about the bill.
