Teresa Kostenbauer, Lauren Gilliland, and Kennedy Evans from the Colorado Department of Higher Education (CDHE) gave an overview of the higher education budget requests for FY 2023-24. Ms. Evans gave an overview of the funding amount, prioritization, and procedure CDHE used for their final prioritized list. The committee asked questions about the School of Mines and Metropolitan State University Denver project.

Luisa Altmann, Legislative Council staff, gave a brief review of the projects requested for funding for FY 2023-24. She gave an overview of the budget documents the committee received. Those documents can be found here: https://leg.colorado.gov/content/jjtcjjtc2022acommdocscurrent. Ms. Altmann answered questions about capital construction funds, the funding process, the procedure of project funding updates, and how much funding the JTC can recommend.
