Senator Cooke, sponsor, explained HB18-1066, concerning clarifying that the law enforcement and defense counsel exemption for sexual exploitation of a child crime does not change the discovery procedures for sexually exploitative material. He further reported that the bill was requested to clarify language regarding discovery proceedings and referenced SB17-115.
John Camper, representing the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, testified in support of the bill. He stated the bill cleans up language regarding discovery procedures and that all stakeholders are in favor of it.
