Cindy DeGroen, State Demography Office, Department of Local Affairs, presented on aging trends in the population of Colorado. The presentation slides may be found as Attachment B. She discussed population by different generation and discussed growth trends by different age groups. She discussed projected work force trends from now until 2030, including a breakdown by county. Ms. DeGroen answered questions from the committee.

Yolanda Webb, Director,
Office of Adult, Aging, and Disability Services, Colorado Department of
Human Services (DHS), provided an overview of the divisions and programs
she oversees. Materials provided by the presenters can be found as Attachment
C.

Kara Harvey, Director,
Division of Aging and Adult Services, DHS, spoke about the older Coloradans
Act. She reviewed the Colorado Commission on Aging's duties and discussed
their strategic action plan on aging. Ms. Harvey discussed the work of
the State Unit on Aging. Ms. Webb spoke about the Senior Specialist on
Aging Technical Advisory Committee. Members of the panel answered questions
from the committee.

Jayla Sanchez-Warren,
Area Agency on Aging Director, Denver Regional Council Governments, gave
an overview of Area Agencies on Aging (AAA) and services they provided
in 2022. The presentation slides are available as Attachment D. She spoke
about population trends and concerns with having the resources to continue
to provide services.

Veronica Maes, AAA
Director, South Central Council of Governments, spoke about AAAs and America's
growing aging population. The presentation slides can be found as Attachment
E. Ms. Maes gave an overview of provided services. She also discussed different
areas of funding.

Eileen Doherty, Executive
Director, Colorado Gerontological Society, gave an overview of the different
services offered and issues the elderly population may be facing. The presentation
slides can be found as Attachment F. She discussed the Elder Index developed
by Boston University, as well as housing costs for the elderly population.
Ms. Doherty compared the monthly income gap between renters and homeowners
in the aging population. She discussed potential funding sources to help
continue to provide services.
