Rep Foote, prime sponsor, presented House Bill 18-1210, concerning peace officer status for the administrator of judicial security in the Colorado Judicial Department.

Chris Ryan, State Court Administrator for the Judicial Branch, requesed this bill to coordinate security responses to threats against judges and other personnel.  POST certification helps to carry out these duties. The bill provides resources statewide. Mr. Ryan responded to questions regarding how far the administrator of judicial security's peace officer status would extend under the bill, and the number of positions to be granted peace officer status by the bill.
