Senator Gardner, chair, called the committee to order. Senator Cooke, prime sponsor, presented House Bill 17-1032, concerning the evidentiary privilege for communications made during the provision of certain peer support services. He explained the bill.



01:33 PM -- Mr. Jack Digliani, representing himself, testified in support of the bill. He discussed peer support teams for law enforcement in Fort Collins. Mr. Digliani provided information about similar programs in other states, and discussed the need for the bill in Colorado.



01:38 PM -- Mr. Mike Loberg, representing the Larimer County Sheriff's Office, testified in support of the bill. Mr. Loberg explained the need for the bill.



01:40 PM -- Black Hawk Fire Chief Don Taylor, representing the City of Black Hawk and the Colorado State Fire Chiefs Association, testified in support of the bill. He explained situations in which peer support is beneficial, and discussed the benefits of the bill. He responded to a question concerning how information is shared in a peer support program.
