01:38 PM -- SB16-156

Senators Scheffel and Guzman presented Senate Bill 16-156 to the committee. Under current law, legislators are appointed to the Legislative Audit Committee, Committee on Legal Services, and the Legislative Council by either the President of the Senate or Speaker of the House and are approved by a majority of members in either the House of Representatives or the Senate. The bill, recommended by the Executive Committee of the Legislative Council, removes the requirement for majority approval by the respective houses and makes modifications to the appointment procedures.

Senator Guzman discussed amendment L.001 (Attachment A) with the committee.
