Attorney General
Phil Weiser, representing the Department of Law, presented to the committee.
He discussed how his office has worked with Colorado's federally recognized
Tribes on a range of issues, including water matters, opioids, and law
enforcement. Attorney General Weiser explained how a portion of the state's
opioid settlement was designated to the Tribes. He commented on the draft
legislation being considered by the committee, specifically Bill Draft
2, concerning federally recognized Tribes and the construction of laws.
