prime bill sponsor, presented House Bill 23-1058, concerning a change to
the definition of "child-occupied facility" as it relates to
lead-based paint abatement. The bill aligns Colorado and federal
law definitions of âchild-occupied facilityâ so that a child-occupied
facility is any building or portion of a building that is visited by a
child two or more days a week with each visit totaling three or more hours.

The bill amends the procedures for emergency and non-emergency placements of a child or youth with a relative or kin, as well as updates the criminal offenses that would disqualify a relative or kin from being considered as a placement option.

(Attachment G). She discussed the DHS staff and facilities. Ms.
Barnes discussed the department's budget and the divisions within the department.

She discussed the roles and programs of the Office of Civil and Forensic Mental Health; Office of Economic Security, Office of Adult, Aging, and Disability Services; and Office of Children, Youth, and Families.
